Penned by writer and creator HS Tak and vividly rendered by artist Amancay Nahuelpan, BOY-1 captures the futuristic journey of a man who discovers he is the subject of a groundbreaking experiment that spins out of control and soon threatens the extinction of all mankind. With nations hunting him as they struggle to maintain order, every move he makes comes with a thousand repercussions.

TEAM

  • HS Tak was born in Washington DC and is a writer and filmmaker repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and also a volunteer member of the Galactic Space Patrol.

    He holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU-Tisch and his award-winning short film Medicine Man garnered critical attention and numerous awards, including the Jesse Tompkins III Grant for Young Artist of Distinction.

  • Jeremy Entin, hailing from Miami, Fl, is a co-founder of Spaceways Industries, a terrible guitarist, and a board member of Genomyne Bioworks Inc.

    As executive producer, Jeremy's goal is to nurture the creation of the most amazing stories and adventures combined with the highest quality art and design possible.

Amancay Nahuelpan

Amancay Nahuelpan (pronounced Aman-kay Na-well-pan) was born in Vancouver, Canada and grew up in Chile. He has been working as an Independent Artist since 2006, that year he published Hijos de P, a noir genre comic, winner of the Chilean Professional Institute of Fantasy and Comics Festival Award for Best Artist and Best Series in 2007. Amancay is the illustrator of Spaceways' first comic book, Boy 1.

Sebastian Cheng

Born in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Sebastian Cheng's artistic bent manifested itself early when he would doodle in his primary school classes. That paid off and he has not laid down the pencil since. Majoring in Illustration, Sebastian Cheng landed his first job as a comic colorist for Hong Kong Comic industries. His work involvement includes the best selling comic Storm Riders (Fung Wan). Sebastian is the colorist of Spaceways' first comic book, Boy 1.

Brent McKee

Brent David McKee lives in a small town in southern Ohio with his wife and daughter. He has worked for various skateboard companies, licensed Nintendo products, Marvel/Upperdeck as well as a book for Image Comics with Geoff Johns. Brent is the illustrator of Spaceways' upcoming comic series, RED SHIFT.

Zach Howard

Zach is a comic book illustrator who has been nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Single Issue in 2010 and has been nominated for a Scream Award. Zach has worked for Marvel, DC, IDW, Image, Dark Horse, Boom, and Simon & Schuster with notable works including Batman, Spiderman, Aliens: Almost human, The Hulk, Shaun of the Dead, and The Cape. Zach is the cover artist of Boy 1 #1.

Isabella Mazzanti

comic artist | illustrator

Mazzanti is a half-Italian/half-Polish artist and illustrator. She has worked as a freelance illustrator for clients such as Simon & Schuster, Penguin Random House, Oxford University Press, Disney, Soleil Edition, Edition Delcourt, Sergio Bonelli Editore, and more. She is deeply influenced by Japanese Art and by the Golden Age of European Illustrators. HITOMI will be Isa's first Image book.

IDW To Publish Boy -1. Will Girl 1 Have To Change Its Name?

Well, this is embarrassing. Actor/writer/director Noel Clarke, best known for playing Mickey in Doctor Who, has a comic book coming out from Doctor Who comic publishing Titan Comics in the near future called Girl 1.

It might need a name change. Because IDW, who used to publish the Doctor Who comic, are publishing a new title in August called Boy-1. Read the article here.

Review: Hellraiser Bestiary #2 - More Tales of Torture

Here is another issue of torture and torment, this one is quite a bit more grim than the last issue. The art on the first story is a throwback to some of the art in the early 1900's. It has a grainy, painted feel to it. I really like it for this story because it sets the tone of the story very well. Read the article here.
